what should I expect at my pet portrait sitting?
dane + dane photography is committed to excellence in all areas of service. Our goal is that you're so enamored with your experience, your proofs and final prints that you can't wait to tell all of your friends about it!
1. The Start: When you contact the studio, we will find out what you are looking to accomplish with your portrait sitting and answer all of your questions. We like to have an initial personal consultation, either in person or over the phone, with all of our clients to make sure we can serve them in the best possible manor.
2. The Details: Once you decide when and where you would like your sitting to take place, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit. The dollar amount will vary based on portrait package and location. The remainder of the sitting fee will be paid at the time of your appointment. If you reschedule more than 24 hrs. prior to your sitting, your deposit will carry over to your new appointment. In the event of multiple cancellations, cancellations within 24 hrs. of the sitting time, or a no-show, your deposit will become non-refundable.
3. The Confirmation: After we have received your deposit, you will receive a conformation email, re-stating the location, date and time of your sitting. If you need directions to the studio, they will be supplied at this time. Also included in this confirmation will be some pre-sitting tips that will help you prepare for the best possible portrait experience. Please don't hesitate to ask more questions between this confirmation and your actual sitting. We are here to help in any way possible!
4. The Sitting: At your pet portrait sitting, whether on-location, or at our dane + dane studio, the first part of our time together will be spent "getting to know each other"- This is the most important part of the process. During this time the photographer will help clarify the goals of the shoot, as well as create a bond with the animal(s). After we have "gotten to know" your pet(s) the photography will begin-- and watch out! It gets fun!! Every single portrait session is unique and unpredictable, but the constant is always a caring and creative environment that is conducive to capturing the authentic personality of each individual animal (and human!). 5. The Edit: Either at the time of your sitting, or at a later date, you will setup a time to "edit" the proofs of your sitting. This secondary appointment is complimentary because trying to choose final prints from all of the images we will capture can be daunting all by your lonesome! At this "proof edit" you will benefit from the photographer's opinions and knowledge, as well as have the opportunity to ask questions about prices, sizing, products, framing, etc. After this appointment, the "proof sheets" are yours to keep. This way, you will always have a record of each image that was taken. If you are an out of state client, we will send you your proof sheets and arrange a phone consultation to help you make your choices.
5. The Prints: Two to three weeks {depending on the season} after your proof edit or independent order, your prints will be available. We can mail or in some areas, hand deliver prints. Or, you are more than welcome to pick them up at the dane + dane studio {by appointment only}. If you have purchased custom framing, the turnaround time is usually between 3-6 weeks depending on the schedule of the gallery.
6. The Future: You are always welcome to order more prints after your proof edit. Your digital + film negatives will be kept on hand for one year, and then stored off-site. However after the one-year grace period, a $25 filing fee will apply.
