the dane + dane mascot
Miss Olivia the Great {Dane} has inspired many wonders, none the least of which, is dane + dane photography.
Ever since the eerily serendipitous way that Olivia wriggled into my unsuspecting life, I have been a firm believer in destiny. Since that fateful April morning in 2004, not only has my love for her triplicated daily, but she has taught me many a lesson about life, devotion, patience, unconditional love and of course, dog.
Olivia, like most of our beloved pets, is the epitome of all the reasons I have a career as a pet photographer. She's quirky and authentic, she's sweet and gentle, she's playful and eager to please, she's affectionate and soft... She's represents most everything I wish I could be {minus the toilet drinking of course}...
Everywhere we go, Olivia is mistaken for a freakishly oversized Dalmatian, a baby cow, a small horse or some science-project combination of all of the above.
In actuality Olivia is a Harlequin Great Dane. Yes, she is 100% Dane. Her birthday is February 8th, the same as mine, which makes us both Aquarians. When Olivia is not at dane + dane studios hard at work, she enjoys taunting and chasing her miniature dachshund buddy "stewie", chewing on anything made of fur, containing a squeeker or tasting of cheese, sleeping (in strange yoga-like positions) for epic periods of time on anything soft, attempting to catch flys with her gigantic mouth, bark-bark barking about just about every little thought that crosses her mind, enthusiastically licking all the unsuspecting faces she can reach, surfing any counter-type space for anyting resembling meat or covored in dressing, and of course, finding time for a jog, some half-fetch and a healthy dose of sniffing at Westcrest or with her other Great Dane friends at Marymoor on the occasional Sunday.
