dane + dane was established in 2005 as a pet portrait studio and pet boutique. Originally the ranks consisted of myself + my business partner and our two Great Dane siblings Hooch and Olivia {the inspiration for the name: "dane" and "dane"}. The studio was located in Poulsbo, WA ( a town affectionately known as "Little Norway")
It was a very short time before the scope of our business had dramatically changed and grown out of both its partnership, and its Kitsap county boundaries. In the winter of 2006 Olivia, the business, and I moved back to the city and settled in West Seattle. These days, dane + dane shares a space with CityDog Magazine and is quickly building a solid reputation of artistic excellence in Pacific Northwest and beyond!

I had no idea four years ago, when I was a dogless student, that my photographic career would eventually bring me back to combine my life-long love of animals with my "gift for seeing" into one job so perfect, that I can't help but feel like it was created just for me. I constantly find myself pulling from the wisdom that my many years as a Vet Tech/ Vet Assistant afforded me and I learn something new about animals and photography every day. I am absolutely blessed to have the best job on earth.
Being a person who never stops dreaming big- I keep very busy. You will often see my work on the cover of, or within the wonderful pages of CityDog Magazine, and occasionally in other publications like Bark, Fido Friendly, Seattle Magazine and more.
I am also excited to announce that after years of "referral only" business we have added our graphic + web design services to the dane + dane menu. Additionally, by PUP-ular demand, we've also streamlined our custom framing department so, you need look no further than dane + dane for a start-to-finish masterpiece that will be artfully captured and then archivally displayed for years to come.
Although I have fallen in love with West Seattle, Olivia and I love to travel, so we take advantage of opportunities to do so as often as possible. We are currently scheduling portrait sittings in Orange County, CA on a bi-monthly basis, and 2008 marks the beginning of my travels around the US and the UK, photographing Great Danes for my book.
In addition to pet photography I have had enjoyed direct experience along side experts in the concert, movie-still, commercial, stock, and human portrait photography industries. My human portfolio includes the famous faces of Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews, Neil Young, Jai Rodriguez, Howard Stern, Reggie Watts and many more.
