Here are some answers to questions we often receive about our work + our policies.

do you photograph animals besides dogs?

Yes! In addition to pooches you will find cats, horses, birds, rodents, reptiles and other loved critters in our portfolio. To see for yourself, visit the galleries

where should we schedule our sitting

Nearly all of our clients ask this question! We recommend that if your animal doesn't travel well or doesn't travel often, that we come to you to keep the stress levels low. We almost always photograph cats in their home (and horses of course) and larger groups of animals at their home or on location. Other than that, generally studio shots are more formal and location shots are more candid- we are glad to chat with you about your specific vision and how we can best accomplish it!

my dogs are wild, how will you get their attention?

The dogs with the most personality make for the most authentic photographs! We are accustomed to fierce tail wagging and frantic kisses. Keep in mind those moments are just as relevant as the calm ones that inevitably follow. Our job is to wait patiently for the perfect shots and to be ready to capture them. Lucky for your dog it usually involves treats, squeakers and belly rubs. Check out our pre-sitting tips for ways to prepare for your pet's portraits.

how much does a sitting cost?

We aim to make our sittings available to all budgets. Our prices start at $199 and our packages vary greatly. Please don't hesitate to contact us with pricing questions and we will tailor a quote especially for you! In the meantime, check our our sitting packages to get an idea of what's included!

can you donate to our charity/auction?

We donate a significant amount of dollars and services to local and national non-profit organizations, animal shelters and other charities. Although we won't always be able to say yes, feel free to contact us with requests. To get an idea of organizations that we've been involved with, click here

what if we have LOTS of pets?

No problem! Depending on the quantity of animals there may be an extra cost, but we support the “more the merrier” philosophy.

can I be in portraits with my pet?

Absolutely! Most of our clients want at least a few photos with their pets. This is our chance to really capture the relationship you have with your furry companion. Check out our human gallery.

what are your packages?

We have a variety of print packages consisting of popular prints, combined in specific quantities to save you money. Some of our sittings come with a credit for prints, and some do not. You are never required to purchase prints after your sitting, but I guarantee you will want to! Visit our most popular sitting packages.

can you come to my home?

Absolutely! Some of our clients prefer to have us come to them. This allows your pet the comfort of familiar surroundings and allows the photographer the freedom to follow your pet through their daily routines… eating, scratching, romping, tugging, sleeping, cuddling etc. On-location shoots feature a more candid, photojournalistic style, use of natural light and the ability to catch your pet being as authentic as can be. Check out our on-location gallery

how far will you travel?

Our clients stretch around the nation and soon, around the globe. If you are interested in our services but don't live near Seattle, click here to read about how you can get a dane + dane portrait sitting in your own backyard for less then the cost of taking your dog to dinner and a movie!

do you shoot digital or film?

We are firm believers in both the digital revolution as well as the classic beauty of film and fiber paper. We shoot both digital as well as film in several formats. There are pros and cons to both avenues of the photographic process and I love have the flexibility to choose between the two for each specific adventure.

do you photograph weddings?

Yes! We'd love to help you document the second most important day of your life (the first of course being the day you got your pooch, which we are also happy to document)
